Plaats 94: Anurag Dikshit 812 Miljoen Pond.
Computer programmer Dikshit, who lives in Gibraltar, made his fortune after writing the software for the online poker site Party Gaming. Although the business was badly hit by the American clampdown on internet gambling, Dikshit, who resigned from the board in 2006, has a stake worth about £250m and sold shares worth more than £550m when the company floated.

Plaats 97: Ruth Parasol 763 Miljoen Pond
De Leon, 42, and his wife Parasol, 41, own 28.4% of Party Gaming, hit hard by America’s crackdown on gaming websites. The firm’s employees are based in Gibraltar, India, England and the Caribbean. Party Gaming went public on the London stock market in 2005, when it was valued at £4.7 billion. Gibraltar-based De Leon and Parasol sold shares worth £436m in the float and a further £64m in 2006. Their remaining stake is worth £263m.

Plaats 244: Victor Chandler 365 Miljoen Pond
Chandler, 57, is the third generation to run the family gambling business, now based in Gibraltar and with customers worldwide. We value the company at £300m and add £65m for Chandler’s property and art collection.

Plaats 270: Peter & Denise Coates 300 Miljoen Pond
Coates, 70, who owns Stoke CIty football club, built up the Provincial Racing chain of bookmakers and set up online betting firm Bet365 on the advice of his daughter, Denise, 40. It is easily worth £275m. Coates sold Provincial Racing in 2005, netting £40m. After investment in Stoke City, the family is worth £300m.

Plaats 289: Vikrant Bhargava 286 Miljoen Pond
Bhargava, 34, co-founded Party Gaming, the internet poker site that floated with a £4.7 billion valuation before an American clampdown on the industry badly hit its shares. He lives and works in Gibraltar where Party Gaming is based.

Plaats 438: Andrew Black 190 Miljoen Pond
Black, 44, founded online betting exchange Betfair in 2000 with Ed Wray (qv). The London business processes up to 5m transactions a day and the pair are expanding its European operations. Betfair was valued at £1.5 billion in 2006 when Japanese firm Softbank bought a stake. Black’s holding is worth £188m, other wealth adding £2m.

Plaats 439: Ed Wray 190 Miljoen Pond
The online betting exchange Betfair has 1m registered users and carries out more transactions a day than all European stock markets combined. The £1.5 billion London operation was set up by Wray, 40, with Andrew Black (qv). Wray’s stake and other holdings take him to £190m.

Plaats 597: Richard Koch 130 Miljoen Pond
Koch, 57, has a stake worth £100m in Betfair, the online betting exchange, and has received £27m back in cash as well. He writes business books and was behind Belgo, the London-based restaurant group, which was sold to fellow investor Luke Johnson (qv).
